In this 4-week series you will learn the system of postural muscles that comprise the core,
then learn how to use them effectively to develop better posture and a stronger center.
Add to this the muscles of the pelvis and legs to develop strength and more integrated functional movement.

This class series provides valuable resources for supporting the natural process of healing through gentle Feldenkrais based movement activities. By stimulating the sensory and motor pathways of the nervous system that orient, guide and coordinate everyday actions such as balancing and weight shifting we improve our capacity to perform these functions.
Class series is open to anyone experiencing balancing difficulties.
$150 for series (includes ball and access to all materials)

Series is open to all who are curious about how to move in yoga with grace and dignity. 5 years of alignment based technical training is required, preferably in yoga. Ability to do head and shoulder stand is a good thing and of course, sense of humor is a must. Practitioners from all styles of yoga are welcome.
The first 15 registrations are guaranteed a place. Drop-ins only on a space available basis.

Topic: Urdhva Dhanurasana
Building on the last session and copious amounts of Ustrasana, we will continue to sequence through the body into full wheel, or Urdhvha Dhanurasana.

May 14 - June 18 (no 5/21)
Topic: Hanumanasana and other asymmetrical wonders.
There are many postures that require the legs to be different relationships to the pelvis. Hanumanasana (splits) is one such pose and this will be the spring board into other possibilities: Standing Side Split, Urdhva Vasisthasana, Vishvamitrasana.

Yoga for Special Needs: Youth

This ongoing weekly class is for people with developmental disabilities and focuses on gentle stretching and strength building through postures (asana), breathing (pranayama), and relaxation (savasana). This is a fun class where participants can enjoy a group yoga practice. All ability levels welcome. Drop-ins welcome, multi-class passes are also available.
